The Research es un trío de la ciudad de Leeds que después de editar su debut Breaking Up, se convirtió, desde hace algunos meses, en una de las revelaciones de la escena pop británica. Pop de garage, habría que decir, porque lo de The Research es desparramar melodías y coritos sobre teclados de juguete y bases de ritmo baratas. Sus integrantes -Russel, Georgia y Sarah- declaran orgullosos que apenas si sabían tocar, que para ellos lo más importante de todo era armar una banda con amigos más que con músicos. Lo que sí poseen es un gran talento para escribir canciones de desamor tan tristes como divertidas. Un disco sobre la separación que los deja parados entre Magnetic Fields y The Postal Service.
